What is Dry Cleaning?
Do you ever wonder how your gowns and suits are cleaned mysteriously by a dry cleaning service? You drop off your most prized clothing items to your dry cleaner and have it returned to you looking brand new?
Dry cleaning is pretty much the same with regular laundering, but instead of water and detergent, a solvent is used to remove dirt and stains. The solvent contains very little or no water, hence the name “dry cleaning.”
Dry cleaners use a very large, advanced, computer-operated machine for dry cleaning. Your clothes get cleaned and get wet, but the liquid solvent used evaporates much faster than water.

The dry cleaning chamber will be filled with solvent and set to about 85 degrees Fahrenheit as the drum rotates, agitating the clothing items. Typically, the washing lasts for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the type of garment.
After the wash cycle, the garments are rinsed with distilled solvent to prevent discoloration due to the soil particles absorbed back into the clothing.
